Supply Chain Coordinator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Generate MRP report for planning materials required for manufacturing operation.

2. Interact with Customer Service and external partners to review packaging requirements, artwork approval for components, labels, etc. for new product launches.

3. Review and monitor open orders with vendors to ensure delivery requirements are fulfilled. Reports on issues which may impact manufacturing schedule.

4. Creates and places purchase orders for goods and services as required to support operations.

5. Participates in sourcing primary or alternate suppliers suited to company needs. Participates in weekly manufacturing planning and scheduling meetings with updates on vendor deliveries.

  1. Monitor safety stock levels on high demand materials.
  2. Participates in obtaining Vendor Qualification from potential suppliers.
  3. Implements programs such as blanket orders where applicable.

9. Update information in ERP such as material specs, manufacturer, lead times, inventory adjustments, etc., as required.

  1. 10. Work with Accounts Payable Department and Warehouse operation on receiving or payable issues.
  2. 11. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supply Chain Management to improve service level and analyze data to determine improvements.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Must be a professional team-oriented individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and be able to adhere to deadlines.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years work experience in a production & inventory environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency (Word, Excel), Vantage ERP and Demand Planning experience helpful.

Director of Operations

IGI Laboratories is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations to oversee our manufacturing site in Buena, New Jersey. The successful candidate must have a background in generic pharmaceutical manufacturing, a proven track record of cGMP compliance, and the motivation and ambition to grow an up and coming topical pharmaceutical manufacturing site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required – further training and education is preferred;
  • Significant experience in generic pharmaceutical manufacturing;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing continuous improvement tools (eg. Six Sigma/Balanced Scorecard).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to manage the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain 100% cGMP environment and ensure continuous testing and improvement of cGMP training and culture;
  • Maintain SOPs and SOP training within the departments and create new SOPs as required by business practice or FDA QM guidelines;
  • Manage, prepare and implement change controls, planned deviations, unplanned devations, notices of events, and general plant control.
  • Manage all manufacturing staff (warehouse, weighing, compounding, packaging, and supply chain) and their continuing performance evaluation and training;
  • Ensure appropriate scheduling and manufacturing of planned production;
  • Collaborate with QA, QC, and R&D to ensure full cGMP compliance and improvement;
  • Lay the foundation for the development of the site master plan, the development of our manufacturing capabilities, and the growth of the business;
  • Uphold the IGI Expectations and our commitment to quality, accountability, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have a track record in manufacturing at the Director level or at a Manager or Senior Manager level. Over time, it is the intention that the Director of Operations will assume responsibility for the site in a Plant Manager role.

Product Development Scientist (topical liquids and semi-solids)

General Description:

IGI Laboratories is seeking a resourceful, self-motivated, Product Development Scientist. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and the abilities to think independently and manage multiple projects. The Product Development Scientist is responsible for all product development activities for generic topical products (liquids, gels, ointments, creams) from characterization of the target reference product through formulation development and scale-up.

Specific Duties:

1. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the Reference Listed Drug (RLD).

2. Characterization and evaluation of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API).

3. Excipient selection.

4. Formulation development and optimization.

5. Preparing and testing of lab scale formulations.

6. Development and optimization of robust manufacturing processes.

7. Preparing pre-commercial Batch Records and overseeing pre-commercial manufacturing.

8. Preparing the Pharmaceutical Development Report.

9. Actively participating as a member of the Product Development Team, comprised of leaders from all functions within the organization.

Qualifications:

Topical product development experience is preferred. PhD plus 2-4 years industrial experience, MS degree plus 4-6 years industrial experience , Bachelor's degree with 6-10 years industrial experience.

Packaging Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of all required functions and activities to support the Filling and Packaging of pharmaceutical products.  The Supervisor will be responsible for all packaging line personnel (IGI employees and temporary staff) ensuring that all activities in the area are performed in compliance with all cGMP’s, SOP’s, company policy, and Fill and Assembly procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide supervision and guidance in the execution of the packaging schedule.
  • Complete all associated packaging documentation to support the initiation, execution, and reconciliation of all packaging line activities.
  • Perform the necessary component transactions in the computer based inventory management system.
  • Work in conjunction warehouse and quality personnel to ensuring packaging components are properly staged for each job.
  • Coordinating temporary and permanent labor to staff the line as per standards.
  • Training of production line workers.
  • Maintaining cGMP’s on the production floor.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow validated packaging procedures.
  • Review equipment cleaning and sanitization log books.
  • Track downtime and analyze root cause.
  • Improve efficiencies and reduce line waste.
  • Report daily production numbers.
  • Enter Direct Labor hours per job into Vantage.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assumes other activities and responsibilities as directed.
  • Interact with other departments as required.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in a cGMP packaging environment
  • Good computer skills
  • Good Math skills
  • Knowledge and experience with label and carton machines

Compounder / Chemical Technician

Position requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 3-5 years of batch compounding or chemical processing in the pharmaceutical industry.  Some college-level coursework is preferred.  Responsibilities include the preparation and cleaning of equipment, weighing, transferring and processing of raw materials.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient and multi-skilled in all aspects of batch compounding of pharmaceutical products.  Experience with production of creams, lotions and liquid products is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand batch record requirements and perform unit operations such as equipment set-up, chemical additions, management of heat/cool cycles, in-process sampling, and product isolation.
  • Excellent understanding of cGMP regulations and ability to apply them in day-to-day work situations
  • Experience with homogenizers, in-line mills, and transfer pumps
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of physical activity.
  • Able to communicate effectively with managers and co-workers
  • Able to consistently complete batch documentation with a high level of accuracy
